1 Ellsworth, Clarence TALL TALES BY OLD ABE: He Tells a Few
[No place]. [Unpublished], 1954. Original Artwork. Watercolor in tones of grey, black & white, on a 7.5 x 10 inch artboard, SIGNED and dated; on the back the title is noted, along with an earlier version which has been crossed out; the painting is numbered #21--reference to a series of book illustrations?
The subject of the piece is a homely, firelit scene with a bearded, pipe-smoking patriarch seated facing the fire and two young boys, backs to the hearth, listening to the tale.

2 Ellsworth, Clarence THE WRECK OF THE SWALLOW: A River Tragedy
[No place]. [Unpublished], 1954. Original Art. Black-and-white watercolor painting on a 7.5 x 10 inch artboard, SIGNED and dated by the important Western illustrator; on the back the title is noted, along with the number ''10''--perhaps indicating one in a series of book illustrations?
The Swallow is depicted breaking apart and about to go under, as silhouetted lifeboats are pitched about in the foreground, and a number of tiny human figures bob helplessly in the roiling waters.
