1 Eaton, Evelyn JOHN: FILM STAR
London/Edinburgh/Paris/Melbourne/Toronto/New York: Thomas Nelson and Sons Ltd., (1937). First edition. Exquisitely illustrated in black-and-white (line drawings within) and color (4 plates and jacket) by Jack Matthew and Maximilen Vox. Nearly fine, with owner's dated (1939) inscription to front endsheet, mild offsetting to endsheets; jacket shows edgewear, nicking, chipping to spine ends, closed tear and crease to front, light soiling; but the jacket art is amazingly bright and intact.
"Novel for boys" about a young English schoolboy on holiday in Paris who takes part in a film about the French Revolution. Extraordinary copy of a scarce title by an author best known for her historical romance of French Canada, QUIETLY MY CAPTAIN WAITS.
