Fine in dust jacket with just a ghost of age-toning and some very light edge wear. 
Fresh, bright copy of this enduring classic of printing and papermaking; with over two hundred rare illustrations, including fold-out frontispiece and scores of photographic reproductions of early printed works, printing tools, watermarks, etc. Indexed.

Glendale, California: (Privately Printed), 1954. First edition: Trade Paperback Original. Trade Paperback. Mild age-darkening to covers, a bit of rubbing, else a near fine copy, in staplebound, illustrated covers. This copy inscribed and SIGNED by Carl G. Hammer, who, though we cannot confirm it, appears to be the author behind the whimsical pseudonym. 
"Story of young tramp printer who spent three years roamin' at the beck and call of the ever-present wanderlust." Autobiographical adventures of a 19-year-old peripatetic printer, one of those fabled ink-stained knights of the road. Scarce!
