Bach's 3636 themes are notated, grouped, subdivided, and indexed according to their melodic design with references indicating the location in the vocal and instrumental indices by Peters and other sources. The thematic index is preceded by finding charts.

The first volume in the Historical Sound Recording Publication Series, the book lists the recordings of Ives' music, the radio and television broadcasts about Ives, and interviews and commentaries that are contained in the Charles Ives Collection at Yale.

History of the pioneering orchestra led until 1969 by only two conductors, Leopold Stokowksi and Eugene Ormandy. Inscribed, in part, thus: "For Jacques, on the happy occasion of your return..." SIGNED and dated (March 14, 1970) by Ormandy. Scarce thus.
