1 Sabatini, Rafael SCARAMOUCHE
Boston and New York: Houghton, Mifflin Company/The Riverside Press, Cambridge: 1921. First U.S. edition, first printing. Hardcover. Very good: light wear and rubbing, tiny pinholes to front inner hinge, pages age-toned, as expected; lacking dust jacket.
"He was born with the gift of laughter and a sense that the world was mad" opens Sabatini's adventure yarn set during the French Revolution; adapted into a play by Barbara Field; filmed in 1923 starring Ramón Novarro and in 1952 with Stewart Granger.

2 Sabatini, Rafael THE STROLLING SAINT
Boston and New York: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1924. Revised edition. First issued in 1913, a revised edition was also released in the U.K. by Stanley Paul in 1924. Hardcover. Pale age-darkening to endsheets, light uniform fading to black cloth, else nearly fine; in a nicked, chipped, edge-torn dust jacket that shows a substantial split at the front flap fold. Yet the jacket art is whole and uncompromised.
Panoramic adventure set at the height of the Renaissance in the Italy of the Borgias, of a young man destined by his mother to be a priest, who abandons his calling for the profession of arms. Jacket art by H.M. Brock.

A very attractive copy of this uncommon early reprint.
