1 Stong, Phil FORTY POUNDS OF GOLD
Garden City, New York: Doubleday & Company, Inc., 1951. B0007E81NM First edition, first printing. Hardcover. Fine, in grey boards with white spine lettering; in near fine illustrated dust jacket with light wear to the extremities, mild creasing to lower end of spine panel.
In order to raise the titular amount of money (enough to buy an Iowa farm and marry Abby Clayton), John Warrick sets out in 1850 with his brother to prospect just that amount of gold. Comic adventure novel from the author of STATE FAIR. Scarce this nice.

2 Stong, Phil, story by; pictures by Kurt Wiese NO-SICH: THE HOUND
New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1936. Second edition. Quarto. Illustrated in black-and-white and color. Hardcover. Owner's name to pastedown, mild wear to edges, else fine, in black shelfback over illustrated boards; full-color doublespread endsheet art; in illustrated dust jacket that is dust-soiled, age-toned, edgeworn, with chip to lower spine end.
Another superb collaboration between Iowa-born Stong and German-born Wiese tells the story of nine-year-old Bert and his strange-looking, oversized pup who "ain't no sich." Wiese is really in his element here--his dogs and his boys are a delight.
