1 Ustinov, Peter HALFWAY UP THE TREE
New York: Random House, (1968). First edition: Review copy, with slip laid in. Bound in gilt-stamped black cloth over lime green boards with blind-embossed Random House logo. Hardcover. Some tiny spotting to the leaf-green top edge coloring, faint offsetting to endsheets, else near fine; in spine-whitened, rubbed and age-toned dust jacket with a new tiny edge tears and a tiny patch of pale stain.
Ustinov's well-reviewed but short-lived generation gap comedy was directed by the author and starred Anthony Quayle and Eileen Herlie. Illustrated with production photos reproduced on coated stock inserts.

2 Ustinov, Peter THE LOSER
Boston/Toronto: Little, Brown and Company/Atlantic Monthly Press (1960). First edition. Hardcover. One corner tip very lightly bruised, a tiny patch of abrasion to front free endsheet, else a fine copy in a very mildly edgeworn, lightly age-toned, but otherwise fine dust jacket. Jacket design by Sandra Whipple
Lovely copy of the multi-talented hyphenate's first novel, a satirical tale of a Nazi soldier, who, hardened by daily contact with death, disease and defeat, finds himself aroused to love and compassion when he is transferred to Italy.
