A book in the Peter Duluth series by the written team of Richard Wilson Webb and Hugh Callingham Wheeler. A nice association copy from the film library of Twentieth Century-Fox who brought the book to film in 1954--starred Ginger Rodgers and Van Heflin.

New York: Simon and Schuster, 1944. First edition. Hardcover. Corner lightly bumped and abraded, tiny remnant of removed bookplate to pastedown, else very good plus in an illustrated dust jacket that shows edgewear and rubbing, a couple of very short closed edge tears, a narrow band of pale dampstain to rear panel. 
Ex-theatrical producer and current Navy Lieutenant Peter Duluth meets his wife Iris (the glamorous Hollywood film star!) in San Francisco for a weekend of R&R and within 24 hours they are both on the run from the cops.
