New York: Mercury Publications, Inc., 1955. Volume 26, No. 6. Digest. Near fine, with a minor nick to spine, general overall age-toning; in stapled wraps with terrific George Salter painting of a man holding a wicked-looking knife, and who has another knife bloodily stuck into his abdomen.
On the cover: Woolrich's first buried-alive chiller "The Living Lie Down with the Dead"--re-titled "One Night to Be Dead Sure Of" ("a strange amalgam of Poe and Damon Runyon"--Nevins) plus an Inspector Appleby, a Merlini contest yarn, Miss Withers, more!

2 Palmer, Stuart MURDER ON THE BLACKBOARD
New York: Tudor Publishing Co., (1932). B00088V8RS Reprint of the Brentano's first edition. Hardcover. Spine has age-toned to a brown hue, covers show light stains and soiling, mild foxing to the endsheets, and minor shelfwear, else very good in orange cloth with spine titles and cover device in black; lacking the dust jacket.
An uncommon hardcover of the third Miss Hildegarde Withers mystery. The bumbling teacher Miss Withers stumbles on a corpse, sifts through the clues and then sets up a perilous final exam for her suspects--which only the killer can pass. Filmed in 1934.
