New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, (1964). B0006BM3S0 First edition, first printing. Hardcover. Very good, with a lean to the spine, a hint of dust-soiling to the blue cloth covers, some mild fading to spine gilt; in an age-toned, somewhat edge-nicked and worn pictorial dust jacket. 
Newhafer's debut novel tells an action-filled tale of America's aircraft carrier pilots during World War II. The author was a much decorated WWII combat pilot who also saw action during the Korean War.
