1 Molesworth, Mrs. THE BEWITCHED LAMP
London: W. & R. Chambers, Limited, [circa 1908]. Early reprint. Blue cloth adorned with an early Mabel Lucie Attwell illustration--in green, yellow and black--of a girl and boy reading by a window. Hardcover. Very good: mild wear and rubbing to covers, small area of pale stain to rear cover, some negligible stains within; endsheets tanned, as expected; public school prize bookplate (1st prize!)--hand dated 1908 to front pastedown; no dust jacket.
Fantasy yarn by the doyenne of Victorian children's fiction centers around 13-year-old Roger Fawke and a magical lamp which somehow finds its way back when taken away from its Moordale Court home. Tissue-guarded frontispiece by Robert Barnes. Scarce!
