New York: Funk & Wagnalls Company, (1953). B000E8V8YU First edition, first printing. Hardcover. Fine, in blue cloth with silver titles; in a very nearly fine dust jacket, with mild age-toning, some very minor nicking. Jacket art by Mimi Korach. 
Her name was Caroline Matilda and the iron collar of servitude was padlocked round her throat, but there were those who thought she was no less than Queen of Denmark. Set in the 1770s. The author also wrote sf and mysteries as Theodora Dubois.

New York: Appleton-Century-Crofts, Inc., (1957). First edition. Hardcover. Small sticker-shadow to the front pastedown endpaper, spine ends slightly rubbed, else very good plus in black cloth over green boards with gilt titles to the spine; in a very good plus dust jacket with tiny chips and very short tears to the shelf edges. 
The prolific mystery author drew inspiration from the Royal Irish Academy in Dublin for this second novel set on Ireland's Emerald Isle in the twelfth century. A tale of the British invasion, superstitions, witchcraft and Fingin, a gifted physician.
