Garden City, New York: Doubleday, Doran & Company, Inc., 1928. First edition. Brown cloth with black titles and a pictorial cover illustration of a horsedrawn stagecoarch. Hardcover. Small stain to the lower fore-edge pages, covers show some shelfwear, soiling, and rubbing, else a very good copy in brown cloth; in a recently supplied nearly fine original dust jacket with some very minor soiling and light rubbing. 
A very early presentation copy of this western novel: inscribed, dated (1927) and SIGNED by the author to Colonel William M. Breakenridge--author of HELLDORADO and Deputy U.S. Marshall in Tucson, Arizona. An association copy of some merit.

Boston and New York: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1915. First edition. Tan cloth reverse-embossed in brown with vignette of a bucking bronco and separate title block. Hardcover. Very good with very slight spine slant, some soiling and edgewear to covers, and foxing to edges. With tissue-guarded frontispiece plate depicting ''Ruth.'' 
Early Western by the prolific, popular, and critically respected Western novelist, author of--among many others, SONS OF THE SADDLE and JUSTICE COMES TO TOMAHAWK.
