1 (Macdonald, Ross). Macdonald, John Ross THE IVORY GRIN
New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1952. First edition, first printing. Hardcover. Faint spotting to the top page edges, and the spine appears age-toned and mildly faded, else very good plus and clean; lacking the dust jacket
The fourth Lew Archer novel, released in the wake of extravagant praise from, notably, Anthony Boucher, who had enthusiastically ranked Macdonald in the now universally acknowledged holy trinity of hard-boiled deities along with Hammett and Chandler.
