London: Methuen & Co., 1900. Twenty-fourth edition: so stated on title-page. Hardcover. Very good: with overall light wear, mild soiling, bookplate to front pastedown, offsetting to rear endsheet; in orange binding with black illustrative devices and lettering to front; black artwork and gilt lettering to spine; no dust jacket. 
First collection of stories from the popular British author who, in his time, was best known for his comic tales of the sea and seamen, but is best remembered these days as the author of the macabre tale (not included here) "The Monkey's Paw."
