Notes, bibliography, and index. 
The first major female American playwright wrote three volumes of memoirs; with this biography, Rollyson, who draws from newly discovered diaries, letters, and interviews, reveals some of the details that were left out or altered by Hellman.

With frontispiece production photo. Hardcover. Hint of soiling to the upper edge of the boards, else a fine, bright copy in clothbacked pale jade paper-over-boards; in pale green dust jacket that shows some mild age-toning, particularly to the spine panel. 
Hellmann's little-known adaptation of Burt Blechman's novel, HOW MUCH? starred Walter Matthau and Ruth Gordon and was directed by Gower Champion. Much heralded at the time in such encomiums as this from Mike Nichols, "Brilliant, funny and vicious."

New York: The Viking Press, 1944. First edition. Hardcover. A near fine copy, in a lightly age-toned, mildly rubbed dust jacket that exhibits some insignificant edgewear and some tiny nicks at the spine ends. A nice copy. 
Anti-fascist drama which criticized America's failure of conscience and thus came under FBI scrutiny. Hellman adapted it for the screen in 1946 with Dudley Digges reprising his stage role, but with Douglas Dick in the part originated by Montgomery Clift.
