Harwood's "Fantasia on English and Russian Themes" (a bow to GBS's subtitle for HEARTBREAK HOUSE) starred Maggie Smith and Edward Fox in its original London production, directed by Peter Yates. With an introduction by the author. Scarce thus.

(Oxford): Amber Lane Press, (1988). 0906399882 / 9780906399880 First edition: a chapbook original. Hint of production buckling at spine, else a fine unread copy in illustrated wraps. 
Harwood's play, suggested by the 1952 screenplay LE DEFROQUE, starred Albert Finney in the title role in its original (Bath) and London productions, both directed by Ronald Eyre. Finney starred in the film of Harwood's better known THE DRESSER. Scarce!

The front cover has been initialed by the film's director Julian Schnabel and SIGNED by actors Mathieu Amalric, Emmanuelle Seigner & Marie-Josee Croze. The film received four Academy Award nominations, and won the Golden Globe.
