Jacket illustration by Taylor Oughton.

New York: Harper & Brothers, Publishers, [1957] B0006AULJE First edition, later printing with date code of D-G. Plum cloth with spine titles and publisher's device gilt. Hardcover. Fine, as-new; in a fine illustrated dust jacket with mild rubbing and soiling to the white rear panel. Jacket illustration by Taylor Oughton. From a small lot of uncirculated stock acquired some years ago, from the Romer Zane Grey estate.
STRANGER FROM THE TONTO, published posthumously, was the fifty-seventh Zane Grey novel. Lost in the scorching Sonora desert, young Kent Wingfield makes an oath to a dying gold prospector that sends him on a quest to save a damsel in distress.

3 Grey, Zane THE DEER STALKER
New York: Harper & Brothers Publishers, (1949). First edition. With the code D-Y on the copyright page. Pictorial jacket displays the publisher's circular label: ''The New 1949 Zane Grey Novel.'' Hardcover. Very good: gift inscription to endsheet, notes to ad page, corners bruised, pale stains to a few preliminary pages and rear endsheet, mild shelfwear, especially to spine ends; in soiled, nicked, edge-torn jacket with shallow chipping to jacket and label.
First published serially in The Country Gentleman of 1925, this novel demonstrates Grey's passionate concern with the balance of nature--as Arizona rangers are faced with deer over-population brought about by the unrestrained slaughter of cougars.
