4 Swarthout, Glendon THEY CAME TO CORDURA
New York: Random House, (1958). First edition. Hardcover. A bright, very nearly fine copy in natural cloth lettered in gilt against a brown panel to the spine; in a lightly age-toned pictorial dust jacket with a hint of edgewear and one tiny closed edge tear to upper front panel. A nice copy. 
Swarthout's second book was the first novel ever to be set against the backdrop of the 1916 U.S. Army campaign into Mexico to capture Pancho Villa. Greeted with rave reviews, it was filmed in 1959 by Robert Rossen with Gary Cooper and Rita Hayworth.
