New York: New York University Press, (1968). Second printing. Hardcover. Near fine in handsome blue-on-green illustrated dust jacket that is very lightly age-toned and shows one tiny closed tear at the rear flapfold. 
Thirteen sf tales (translated by Helen Jacobsen) collected by Magidoff from among the "liveliest and best-written short stories" published at this important coming-of-age juncture in the history of Soviet SF. Second entry in a series inaugurated in 1964.

Third in this pioneering series of collections features two introductory essays by prominent Russians on the status of sf in the Soviet Union, and a short novel by Gennady Gor. Other authors represented include Varshavsky, Dnieprov, Bakhnov, Xlebnikov.
