London: White Lion Publishers Limited, (1976). First hardcover edition, first printing. Hardcover. Significant lean to the spine, minor marginal dampstains to the front endpaper, inked numbers to the copyright page, mild creasing to pages, else very good; in a very good plus, photo-pictorial dust jacket showing some wear and rubbing. 
Paul Temple is an amateur private detective and author of crime fiction who has been featured in radio serials, television episodes, film, as well as novels. Quite scarce!

New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, (1962). First U.S. edition, first printing. Hardcover. Very good plus; in a very good, illustrated dust jacket that shows some dampstaining to the flaps and portions of the back and front panels, with mild wear, rubbing, nicks, and several short edge tears. 
PORTRAIT OF ALISON was first made into a film and released under the same title (known as "Postmark for Danger" in the U.S.). Starred Robert Beatty, Terry Moore and William Sylvester. This is the novel based on the film and the earlier BBC TV serial.
