1 Drinkwater, John THE COLLECTED PLAYS OF JOHN DRINKWATER
London: Sidgwick and Jackson Limited, 1925. First edition; trade issue. Two volumes. An association copy of some merit: inscribed and SIGNED by the author to the front endpaper. Attractive bookplate to both volumes, mild tanning to the endpapers, spines are uniformly age-toned, covers display some bowing, else a very good set in blue buckram with spine and cover titles gilt, top edge gilt; lacking the slipcase.
Inscribed by the Georgian poet, playwright, and biographer to his former first wife Kathleen Walpole Drinkwater (affectionately known as "Toby"): "Toby with love/from/John/Sept. 1925." Kathleen Drinkwater has SIGNED the front endpaper of both volumes.
Price: 125.00 USD

2 Drinkwater, John THE LIFE AND ADVENTURES OF CARL LAEMMLE
London: William Heinemann Ltd., (1931). First edition. Hardcover. Very good plus with light wear to edges, a few dots of pale foxing to endpapers, and a rubber-stamped ''Property of the University of Texas'' to the front free endpaper; in an age-toned, lightly worn dust jacket that is chipped to corners and spine head.
Early biography of the quintessential movie mogul and founder of Universal Studios; illustrated with over 20 photographs.
