San Francisco: The Murdock Press, 1907. First edition, first printing. Original sepia-toned photograph of the author tipped to the verso of the second blank leaf. Slim octavo. 58 pages. Hardcover. Original yellow printed wraps, hole-punched in three places, for the original tied-binding; bound in contemporary brown cloth with gilt-stamped "Chinese Stories" to the front cover. Minor edge wear and speckling to the cloth, very good, internally fresh.
Collection of three illustrated stories and one essay on the Chinese immigrants of San Francisco by the occasional contributor to "The Overland Monthly", "Out West", and "The Era." Possibly one of a few copies bound for the author's use.
