1 Day, Holman KING SPRUCE
New York and London: Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1908. First edition, first printing. Hardcover. Tiny bits of spotting to the top page edges, else fine and fresh in decorative cloth with spine and cover titles and crown motif in bright gilt; lacking the dust jacket. A superb copy!
Born in Vassalboro, Maine in 1865, Holman Day was a poet, a novelist, and a filmmaker, as well as a correspondent for the "Lewiston Sun" for years. He produced over 25 books. KING SPRUCE, a logging novel, was the source for the 1920 silent film.
