New York: Alfred A Knopf, 1943. First edition, first printing. Hardcover. Wear to the spine ends, else near fine, in terra-cotta cloth with blue devices and lettering; in a worn and age-toned dust jacket missing a large piece from the top of the spine, a tiny chip from the lower spine, and showing some edge wear. 
DONOVAN'S BRAIN, the genre veteran's key work, was a bestseller that was adapted for the cinema several times. Dr. Patrick Cory, unable to save the life of W.H. Donovan after a plane crash, keeps his brain alive through an illegal experiment.
