1 Coxe, George Harmon MRS. MURDOCK TAKES A CASE
New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1941. First edition: Advance Reading Copy with publisher's slip laid in and ''Sample Copy/Not For Sale'' rubber-stamped to the top page edges. Proof. Slight shelfwear along the spine and spine ends, mild rubbing to the covers, else a very good plus copy in illustrated wraps. Cover drawing by Bob Smith.
Kent Murdock's a refined, cleaned up version of author Coxe's rumpled, fast-talking crime photographer, Flashgun Casey. Kent is a more mature, and professional man, urbane, sophisticated even. His wife, Joyce, often teamed up with him to solve cases.

2 Coxe, George Harmon THE BAROTIQUE MYSTERY
New York: Alfred A Knopf, 1936. First edition, first printing. Hardcover. Very good plus: spine rolled, dots of pale stain to top-edge color, fading to spine, faint foxing to fore-edge; lacking dust jacket.
Coxe's sophomore effort brings back cynical, sentimental, smooth, sharp-eyed and sophisticated newspaper-photographer Kent Murdock, who--trying to vacation on the titular island--runs into gangsters, chorus girls, and murder. Aka MURDOCK'S ACID TEST.

3 Coxe, George Harmon THE FRIGHTENED FIANCEE
New York: Alfred A Knopf, 1950. First edition, first printing. Hardcover. Imprint of a child's heavy-handed, scrawled writing to a few pages of rear matter, else this would be a fine copy in orange decorative boards; in a mildly age-toned illustrated dust jacket with the spookily airbrushed artwork of Arthur Hawkins, Jr.
Series mystery featuring Sam Crombie, "a large man in a seersucker suit and a Panama hat, who plods along and does his job" (J. R. Cox), by this "professional's professional" (Anthony Boucher) and "master of the art of the detective novel." (W.L. Phelps.)
