New York: Grosset & Dunlap Publishers, (1929). Vintage reprint. Hardcover. Small stain to the upper edge of the front endpapers, else near fine in green cloth with black titles; in a lightly worn, very good dust jacket with tears and mild chipping to the extremities. 
Alfred Walter Stewart (1880-1947), was a British chemist and part-time novelist who wrote seventeen detective novels between 1923 and 1947 under the pseudonym of J.J. Connington.
