New York: Hastings House, Publishers, (1953). First edition. Hardcover. Rectangular offsetting to the front endpapers, else a very nearly fine copy in colorfully designed covers with gilt lettering to the spine; in a photo-pictorial dust jacket with very minor creasing to the lower spine panel and the ends of the flap folds. 
A collection of black-and-white photographs of Gloucester and Rockport, which combine sea, sky, and old houses at different times of the year to create various moods. The second book in a series, following CAPE COD. Color jacket photo of a boat.

Illustrated with photographs by the oft-called "photographer-laureate," Samuel Chamberlain. These tales are based on writings by Samuel Adams Drake, Nathaniel Hawthorne and others.

New York: Hastings House, (1947). B0007DT5TC First edition, first printing. Hardcover. Fine in evergreen linen with titles stamped in gilt to the front cover and to the spine; in a near fine dust jacket with barely perceptible short tears to the lower edge of the spine panel. 
It is hard to believe this book is vintage, it looks so strikingly fresh and bright. A collection of 322 quality b&w photographs that evoke an enchanting sense of scenic history; with a color frontispiece that mimics the dust jacket.
