Late novel, published as LONG SHADOWS in the U.K., by Edith Caroline Rivett-Carnac who wrote Golden Age mysteries under the ECR Lorac and Carol Carnac pseudonyms. Inspector Julian Rivers investigates murder in a luxurious nursing home.

Garden City, New York: Doubleday & Company, Inc., 1950. First U.S. edition, first printing. Hardcover. Textblock uniformly tanned, hint of edgewear: a bright, sharp near fine copy in black textured boards with yellow-green spine lettering; in a lightly rubbed, nicked, edgeworn, edge-creased dust jacket. Albeit, a nice copy. 
A Chief Inspector Julian Rivers mystery, first seen in the U.K. as UPSTAIRS, DOWNSTAIRS. Carnac was a pseudonym for Edith Caroline Rivers, who also wrote mysteries as E.C.R. Lorac.
