1 Burnett, W.R. DARK HAZARD
London: William Heinemann Ltd, (1934). First U.K. edition, first printing. Hardcover. Very good only, flecking, soiling, light wear to covers, spine slightly slanted, interior quite clean; in green cloth with black lettering to spine, racing dog device to cover; lacking dust jacket. 
Burnett's novel about compulsive gambler Jim Turner was filmed in 1934 with Edward G. Robinson. This copy inscribed to Charles Davis, dated (1935), and SIGNED by the author to the title-page. The title is the name of the racing dog. Scarce in the U.K.

Cleveland/New York: Forum Books/The World Publishing Company, (1945). Second printing, so stated on copyright page. Hardcover. Small areas of faint stain to covers and spine, a bit of puckering to spine, mild bump to spine heel, age-toning to pages, thus very good at best, in red binding with grey lettering and devices; lacking dust jacket. 
Inscribed to film and television director Jerry Bernstein and SIGNED by the author. Filmed by Jean Neguleso in 1946 from a screenplay by Burnett, and with stars John Garfield and Geraldine Fitzgerald.

Sensational example of this scarce title, with the striking jacket and endpaper art by Edna Reindel vivid and bright. Hardcover. Small bookplate to pastedown, else fine, in red cloth with gilt spine stamping, blind-embossed publisher's emblem to front; in a near fine illustrated dust jacket, showing mild edgewear, a few very small nicks, a tiny area of faint stain to spine panel. 
Novel of Tombstone, Arizona, cited by some as the earliest fictional treatment of the gunfight at the OK Corral. Filmed four times: LAW AND ORDER (1932) with Walter Huston; BEAST OF THE CITY (1932); LAW AND ORDER (1940) and (1955) with Ronald Reagan.
