Decorative chapter tail pieces. Hardcover. Mild speckled discoloration to the rear cover and fore-edge of the front cover, else very good in original plum-colored cloth, with two bands of decoration and debossed titles, all stamped in black to the front cover. 
Clara Spalding Brown, "who was probably the first woman reporter on the western frontier", offers "Stories of the coastal areas, including San Diego. Also of the California land booms in the late nineteenth century." Baird & Greenwood, 331.
