New York: Bantam Books, (1948). First edition thus, first printing: a paperback collectible. Bantam Books #462. The rare dust jacket was added by Bantam to increase sales. Mass market paperback. Tight, uncreased, bright, fresh, very good plus, upper corner of front endpaper clipped, plastic laminate just starting to lift at shelf-edges, upper page corner tips slightly nicked; in a rare, very good edge-worn dust jacket, chipped to spine ends. 
The original cover art depicts a hand-kissed female with tightly bound hair, and a monacled embassador-type man, with, "She was the toast of Paris". The dust jacket depicts a woman with a longing eyes in a tight strapless dress, with "driven by desire".
