London: Hodder & Stoughton, (1959). First edition, first printing. Hardcover. Corner tips mildly bumped, bookseller's address neatly rubberstamped to the lower front pastedown endpaper, else fine; in a very nearly fine illustrated (Biro) dust jacket that is mildly age-toned and soiled. 
An historical novel of the English who occupied the Highlands of Scotland after the last battle fought on the soil of Britain--the defeat of the Jacobites at Culloden. A thriller, of sorts, that is listed in Hubin. This copy appears unread.
