1 Benson, E.F. PORTRAIT OF AN ENGLISH NOBLEMAN
New York: D. Appleton-Century Company, Incorporated, 1937. First edition. Hardcover. A fresh, bright, near fine copy, in red cloth, with paper spine label, inset front cover label, pictorial endpapers; in a lightly edgeworn, age-toned dust jacket with minor chipping to the spine head, a few very pale dots of dampstain to the spine panel.
The "Georgian" episode in Benson's four-volume "Old London" tales offered by Appleton-Century as a boxed set in THE OLD CITY FICTION series. With the gloriously apposite pictorial musings of Reginald Birch gracing the cover label, jacket and endpapers.
