McCutcheon. 
With frontispiece and twenty-three inserted illustrations on coated stock in pen-and-ink by John T. McCutcheon, the Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist and brother to George Barr McCutcheon. A collection of short stories featuring Marshall Anderson Crow.

New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1928. First edition, first printing. Hardcover. Owner's name, dated 1928, to front free endsheet, a whisper of shelfwear, else a fine copy in blue cloth with yellow lettering and fuchsia rules; in an age-darkened, mildly edge-worn dust jacket. A very nice copy! 
A young man travels to a remote area along the Canadian border and discovers a community of people seemingly left behind by time. There, half-believing he has been transported back to Pilgrim days, he falls in love!
