1 Orczy, Baroness PETTICOAT RULE
New York: Hodder & Stoughton/George H. Doran Company, (1910). First U.S. edition. Originally appeared from Hutchinson in 1910 as PETTICOAT GOVERNMENT. Hardcover. Pale dampstaining to lower edges which seeps into the lower third of some pages, and has faded the burgundy color from the lower spine; else a clean, sharp copy; no dust jacket.
Historical adventure set in the reign of Louis XV during the heyday of Madame de Pompadour, from the author of THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL.

2 Orczy, Baroness THE NEST OF SPARROWHAWK
London/New York/Toronto: Hodder and Stoughton, [no date]. Uniform Edition of Baroness Orczy's Novels. Hardcover. Very good in blue binding with black lettering and artwork, with light wear, fading to spine, a few dots of stain within; no dust jacket. Quite decent later printing copy of a rather elusive title.
Orczy "used the area around the tiny village of Acol where she and her husband rented a house...as the background for her story, set in the Civil War, with the ingredients of intrigue, betrayal, romantic passion, disguise and blackguardery."-James Wilson.
