Boston: Small, Maynard & Company, Publishers: (1916). First edition, first printing. Hardcover. Modest shelfwear, faint speckling to the spine, else a near fine, bright copy in olive cloth lettered in white to spine and front cover, with handcuff device to front cover; lacking dust jacket. 
England, a popular pulp writer of proto-sf, first published this criminous tale as an ALL-STORY WEEKLY serial; it was subsequently adapted as a silent film. Color frontis by Modest Stein shows the desperate Slayton surprised with his hands in the safe!
