North Hollywood, California: 1973. First edition: an illustrated monthly anthology that featured a ''Fantasy Classic'' in each issue. Large format softcover. Fine in 8.5x11 inch color-illustrated, stiff, stapled wraps with arresting, wraparound cover painting by John Pound, and with full-color and black-and-white interior art by Larry Ortiz, among others. 
Blackwood nabs the cover for his tale of psychic detective John Silence; Bartlett is represented with an alien invasion yarn, "The Vanguard of Venus." Also: "A Hand from the Deep" by Romeo Poole and "Dialogue of the Dead" by Lucian.

One of 5000 copies produced. Fine in 8.5x11 inch color-illustrated, stiff, stapled wraps with striking, wraparound cover painting by John Pound, and with color and b&w interior art by Gerry Mooney, Larry Ortiz, and David Weiss. Laid in is the publisher's certificate of limitation. 
The best of Blackwood's John Silence tales (originally seen in 1909) headlines this issue, which also features the scarce story of alien invasion, "The Vanguard of Venus" by Landall Bartlett--first printed as a giveway by AMAZING STORIES in the 1920s.
