1 (Garner, Alan). Philip, Neil A FINE ANGER: A Critical Introduction to the Work of Alan Garner
(New York): Philomel Books, (1981). 0399208283 / 9780399208287 First U.S. edition. Hardcover. Very mild crimp to spine crown, one very small, very pale patch of stain to a preliminary page, else a near fine copy in gilt-stamped brown cloth; in a rubbed dust jacket.
Unusual critical study of the novels of the unclassifiable Garner, whose original, powerful and eloquent works of mythopoetic fantasy include THE WEIRDSTONE OF BRISINGAMEN, ELIDOR, THE OWL SERVICE and THE RED SHIFT. Notes, index, bibliographies.

2 Garner, Alan THE MOON OF GOMRATH
New York: Henry Z. Walck, Incorporated, 1967. B0006BQVWO First U.S. edition, first printing. Jacket by Ellen Raskin. Hardcover. A few tiny dots of stain to upper page edges, mild wear to spine crown, else fine, in denim-blue cloth with gilt spine-stamping; in a price-clipped, very good plus dust jacket with age-darkening, especially to spine panel, some mild wear to the edges.
Susan and Colin are again pulled into that magical realm they stumbled into in the first Alderly Edge novel, WEIRDSTONE OF BRISINGAMEN: this time by the freeing of an ancient, formless evil called the Brollachan. (Victoria Strauss.)

3 Garner, Alan THE OWL SERVICE
St. James's Place, London: Collins, 1967. First edition. Hardcover. Very good: nearly invisible stain to fore-edge, tiny patch of eraser fade to green endpaper, lower corners, spine ends lightly bumped; edge-worn price-clipped dust jacket shows age-toning, faint dampstains, edge tears, nicks, small chip to spine heel.
Winner of the Guardian Award and the Carnegie Medal--first time both awards were given to one book. This story from the Welsh MABINOGIAN in a lyrical, haunting modern re-telling concerns a mystical set of china decorated with what appears to be an owl.
