In textured black cloth with white spine titles; in an illustrated dust jacket. Hardcover. Thumbtack-head sized dot of dark blue-black ink to upper-page edges, faint foxing to page edges, else sharp, bright, fresh, near fine; in a near fine dust jacket: lightly soiled, spine darkened a bit, nicking to spine ends. 
Dr. Hewlettt and his son Jimmy go to the titular island in search of the remains of long-vanished aborigines, but find themselves enmeshed in a battle for lost pirate treasure. Maps and decorations by the author, an archaeologist and explorer.
